There are lots of activities offered from the boating lake, the Discovery centre, a bowling alley, a cinema, the Leisure centre with an indoor pool, a zoo, donkey rides, horse riding, sailing, the Pier and a clean beach. The planting is a real pleasure; Cleethorpes has been the Gold award winner of Britain in Bloom. There is shopping in Seaview Street and St Peter’s Avenue in small shops with friendly service and a choice of cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes. Skegness, Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea are very close, and there are miles of sandy beaches and nature reserves that are unique to Lincolnshire and a must for nature lovers. The seals visit the coast every year at Donna Nook and it makes a great day out for the family.

Touring
Drive on country roads across the Wolds and enjoy the Lincolnshire landscape, big skies and open spaces. Lincolnshire is steeped in history. Louth, Brigg and Horncastle are bustling local market towns; Alford is a lovely small historical town. Horncastle and Helmswell are antiques centres, Woodhall Spa is a unique town with beautiful buildings and a Kinema in the Woods, Beverley just over the Humber bridge in Yorkshire is a historic town with a lovely Minster and good shopping, and the cities of Hull, Lincoln, and York are within easy reach.
Lincolnshire’s love of good food is evident across the county, with a variety of local produce. Hand-reared meats, pork and red beef, freshly milled flour, home grown vegetables, home grown vegetables, stuffed chine, Lincolnshire sausages and pork pies, plum bread, Lincolnshire Poacher cheese and Yellowbelly – and local beers. The Grapevine cafe opposite the cottages serves homemade food at lunchtime and delicious scones and desserts. Fish and chips are available locally in the Golf Club and from our village fish and chip shop and Cleethorpes has lots of fish and chip restaurants to choose from.

There are several large local Garden Centres nearby, including Wyevale, Louth garden Centre, Brigg, Pennells, and any number of specialist Nurseries. including Lincolnfield nurseries in North Thoresby, 10 minutes drive. In the spring and summer there are a number of local private gardens open to the public.
Tetney golf course is a few minutes walk away. There are a number of other golf courses within ten miles.

Regular meetings for bikes and cars at the track. Market Rasen Racecourse – a small friendly course with regular meetings and a variety of food and drink served.

Visit the many nearby attractions such as the Fishing Heritage Museum, Hubbard’s Hills in Louth, The Deep, Rushmoor Country Park, Rand Farm Park, Mumby model car museum, Chequered Flag Go Karting, Woodside Falconry & Conservation Centre and the Northcote Heavy Horse Centre. Tattershall castle, Belvoir castle, Normanby Hall Country Park, Elsham Hall Country and wildlife Park, Belton House, Burghley House, Willingham Woods, Waltham Windmill ten minutes away still produces flour and there is a restaurant, shops and crafts on site.
Our local village supermarket, 2 minutes drive, is open until 10pm and has a Post Office and a cash and a coffee machine, and Tesco extra is 10 minutes drive. Freshney Place undercover shopping Centre in Grimsby, 15 minutes drive away also has a market hall and a variety of shops in the pedestrian precinct. Louth, 15 minutes drive, has a good market three days a week and lots of smaller interesting shops. Gainsborough has a good variety of shops in Marshalls Yard. Further away but within driving distance, Beverley, Lincoln, Nottingham and Leeds provide everything for retail therapy.
There are many seasonal attractions and events throughout the year locally. These can be found on the Lincolnshire Tourism website. Local artists have regular shows across the region and the Christmas market in Lincoln and the Cleethorpes Jazz festival are worth visiting. Grimsby Auditorium and Louth Playgoers Theatre have various productions from touring companies
Medieval, Saxon, Norman, Gothic and Georgian churches are in abundance locally. There are numerous village churches, and St James in Louth, Boston Stump, Beverley Minster and Lincoln cathedral are of particular interest.
